Friends of Oxford Spires Academy, known as FOSA, is an active parents and friends association who organise activities, provide refreshments for school events and fundraise for additional equipment to enhance students’ school experience.

We also act as a link between school and parents with either the Headteacher or ACC Chair attending meetings. Recent sessions have covered school finances, uniform, coping with challenging behaviour, catering, and more. We offer a pool of collective experience and there will always be time at meetings to ask questions and discuss issues.

We run special events to be social and to fundraise. In recent years, we have funded three outdoor table tennis tables, plus bats and balls, which are very well-used by students and staff alike! We have also brought mirrors for the dance studio. We have numerous requests for funding coming in each year and work with the school on prioritising these and ensuring students have a say in what is bought for them.

FOSA Committee and meetings

The FOSA committee members for 2024-25 are Kelly Jones (Treasurer), Andy Roe, Julia Tilford and Claire Brunt. Meetings are held in the library at Oxford Spires, 6.30pm - 7.30pm on the following dates:

• Wednesday, 15th January 2025
• Wednesday, 5th March 2025
• Wednesday, 30th April 2025
• Wednesday, 11th June 2025
