    Daily Structure and Expectations

    • Time: Tutor time begins at 8:30am sharp.

    • Thresholding: Tutor will greet students as they arrive. Students should be on time to ensure a positive start to the day.

    • Silent Starter: Upon entering the room, students will see a short, silent activity on the board. This will include:

    • 3 gap-fill questions to review recent materials

    • 1 mastery question to challenge your understanding

Students are expected to complete this activity in silence as soon as they enter.

    • Late Arrivals: If students arrive after 8:30am, they will receive a late mark. Frequent lateness will be followed up according to school policy.

    • Equipment Check: This ensures that students have all the necessary equipment, including pens, planners, and materials for the session. Lack of equipment will be addressed by tutors.

    • Exit Ticket: At the end of each session, tutor will set a brief task to check students understanding of the day’s key points. This might be a reflective question, a key takeaway, or a mini-quiz.

    Tutor Responsibilities

    • Tutors will ensure sessions start promptly and that you stay on track throughout the session.

    • They will create a calm and focused environment where you can engage meaningfully with the activities.

    • Student engagement, attendance, and progress will be monitored, and tutors will follow up with any concerns.

    • Consistent standards will be applied for lateness, equipment, and behaviour.

This schedule ensures that your academic, personal, and community-focused development is supported throughout your time in Sixth Form.
