International Trips 2025–2027 – Parent Information

We are delighted to share with you the exciting range of international trips we are planning for Oxford Spires Academy students in the academic year ahead and beyond.

We know that for many families, planning for these experiences — both practically and financially — takes time. By providing this information now, we hope to give all families the opportunity to consider the options well in advance.

International Trips – 2025 to 2027

Here is a summary of the trips currently planned:

• October 2025 – Berlin (Year 11)
• December 2025 – Thailand (Year 12)
  Funding to be confirmed – we aim to offer 15 funded places. Additional places approx. £1300.
• February 2026 – China (Year 12)
  Funding to be confirmed – we aim to offer 15 funded places. Additional places approx. £1300.
• March 2026 – Andalucía, Spain (Year 9) – approx. £700
• July 2026 – Belgium (Year 9) – approx. £700
• July 2026 – Vienna (Sixth Form) – approx. £500
• October 2026 – CERN, Switzerland (Sixth Form) – approx. £500
• November 2027 – Munich (Year 11) – approx. £600

We are proud to offer these enriching experiences that not only support students' learning but also help them build independence, cultural awareness, and lasting memories.

New Fair Allocation Process

In response to feedback from families, we are introducing a new process to make trip allocations as fair and accessible as possible. We recognise that a ‘first come, first served’ system can place some families at a disadvantage, so our updated approach gives everyone the chance to plan and express interest well ahead of time.

Year 9 Trips – Andalucía and Belgium:
These trips are particularly popular, so we will operate a random selection process in September 2025. To express your interest:

• Please complete this expression of interest form [click here] by 15^th July 2025.
• In September 2025, students will be selected at random for the available places.
• Families of selected students will be asked to pay a £150 non-refundable deposit within 8 days.
• Any places not secured by this deadline will be reallocated to students that completed the expression of interest form by 15^th July 2025.
• The form above will also allow you to indicate if you would like to request financial support, this might be funding or an agreed payment plan.

This timeline ensures that all families have time to prepare for the deposit over the summer holidays, and that no one is disadvantaged by being unable to respond quickly.

Further Opportunities Throughout the Year

Please note that we are continuing to work hard to expand the range of trips and enrichment activities available to all students through Enrichment Week 2026, which will provide even more exciting learning experiences closer to home and abroad.

Sign-up details for all other trips (including Sixth Form trips and Year 11 trips) will be shared in the next academic year, following a similar fair and transparent process.
