Congratulations on enroling at the Oxford Spires Academy Sixth Form and for achieving such excellent GCSE results! We are excited to welcome you to Sixth Form in September. ​

Choosing Oxford Spires Academy Sixth Form means joining one of the highest-achieving centres of post-16 learning in Oxfordshire, with a remarkable +0.59 progress value added score in the 2025 A Levels – a clear sign that students here go further, faster. But success isn’t just measured in grades: our Sixth Form offers exceptional enrichment opportunities, from leadership development to cultural experiences. In Spring 2026, students will even have the chance to take part in fully-funded trips to Thailand and China, broadening horizons and building global connections. ​

Please read below for some important information about the start of term.​

Tuesday 2nd September​

All Year 12 students should attend school at Midday (12:00pm). You should arrive through Student Services and attend your tutor group (tutor group lists and rooms will be displayed on the day).​

On the day you will receive your timetable and lanyard. If all is correct you will be able to leave. If there are changes you need to make to your timetable/subject choices you will need to meet with a member of the Sixth Form team.​

Up Learn​

We have an incredible resource for all our Science and Maths students in Sixth Form – Uplearn. Consistently completing UpLearn is proven to link to higher grades and we have already seen the impact for the out-going Y13. Learn more about it here https://uplearn.co.uk.​

Individual subscriptions cost approximately £400 per subject. As a school we are able to negotiate a reduced rate but it is still a high cost. ​

We are asking parents to contribute £40 per subject. The payment will be added to your ParentPay after enrolment.​

Parent/carer information evening​

We are very excited to hold our first Sixth Form introductory event for parents and carers. This is open to parents of Y12 and Y13. The focus is how to support your child’s success in Sixth Form and we will explain: the shape of the year/s; Sixth Form expectations; effective study habits; enrichment. ​
