It’s been fantastic to see the students return with such enthusiasm and energy — the first few weeks have already been full of learning, laughter, and exciting new experiences.
We had a fantastic start to the year with Open Evening on 11th September, welcoming prospective new students and their families to our school. The theatre was buzzing with excitement and a wonderfully enthusiastic atmosphere.
Our OSA students did an amazing job as tour guides, showing families around the site and introducing them to different departments. Visitors got to explore lots of fun activities — from investigating how the skeleton works, solving tricky maths puzzles, joining in with sports activities, to exploring historic famous faces in a picture photo booth, and much more!
A huge thank you to all the student guides and helpers — you were a real credit to the school and made the evening extra special.
We’re so proud of our community and can’t wait for what’s next!
We are delighted to invite parents and carers to our Meet the Tutor event for all year groups on Thursday, 2nd October, from 4:00–6:00pm.

Let’s make this term the best one yet — see you there!
Following on from the success of last year’s event we have organised special enrichment sessions for all Year 7s and Year 9 students to take part in on Friday 26th September. Year 9 will start the activities between 9:00-11am and Year 7 11am – 3pm.
The aim of the day is to empower participation through fun and inclusive activities as well as inspiring engagement through realistic challenges.
We hope that the sessions will provide an opportunity to support students in developing key skills related to personal and team development.
We anticipate that all Year 7 and Year 9 students will participate in the sessions. However, if for any reason your child does not wish to take part, please notify us by emailing info@oxfordspires.anthemtrust.uk.
Scholar’s Development Day will be run by an external company but will take place on school site. There will be 5 activities in total that the students will be taking part in.
We would like to offer parents of Year 10 and Year 11 students the opportunity to purchase revision guides for GCSE Science and GCSE Languages at a reduced price. Please see your ParentPay accounts where the specific books have been allocated. Departments will order and distribute the revision guides/workbooks directly to students.
However not compulsory, the revision guides and or workbooks will be a helpful aid, and many students will find them incredibly useful.
We are delighted to share that student attendance at Oxford Spires Academy has shown excellent improvement this term. With just 21 days left until the half-term break, it is more important than ever that students are in school every single day to make the most of their learning.
To celebrate these improvements, next week we will be treating students who have shown great progress in their attendance. In addition, those who have sustained excellent attendance will be rewarded with the elusive Oxford Spires Attendance Badge – a recognition that money simply can’t buy!
We want to thank you for the commitment and support you have shown this year. By prioritising school attendance, you are giving your child the best possible chance to succeed – both in their education and in their future opportunities.
A reminder for the start of the day:
Thank you again for working with us to make every day count. Together, we are building strong habits that set our students up for success.
