Celebrating our GCSE Results 2026!
Oxford Spires Academy is delighted to celebrate an exceptional set of GCSE results, with students achieving the strongest outcomes in the school's history.
This year's cohort secured an impressive Attainment 8 score of 47.4, with 73% of students achieving Grade 4+ in both English and Mathematics and 53% achieving Grade 5+, placing Oxford Spires significantly above national averages. These outstanding results reflect the hard work, dedication and ambition of our students, supported by the unwavering commitment of our staff and families.
There is much to celebrate across the curriculum, with exceptional performances in a wide range of subjects. Mathematics delivered one of its strongest ever outcomes, with 80% of students achieving Grade 4+ and 60% achieving Grade 5+, while English Language and English Literature also secured impressive results. The Sciences were particularly strong, with Biology, Chemistry and Physics all achieving outstanding outcomes, including 94% Grade 5+ in Biology and 89% Grade 5+ in both Chemistry and Physics.
Creative subjects flourished, with Art achieving an average grade of 5.8, and students producing exceptional outcomes in Design & Technology, Drama, Music and Photography. Modern Foreign Languages continued to excel, with Spanish achieving an average grade of 6.3 and 91% of students securing Grade 5+.
We are also incredibly proud of the success of our newest GCSE qualification, Statistics, where students achieved almost a full grade above target on average whilst gaining an additional qualification.

Best ever Key Stage 5 Results 2026
We are delighted to celebrate our best ever Sixth Form results this year.
- High grades: 23% of entries were awarded A–A* and 51% achieved A*–B.
- Vocational success: 76% of vocational results were at Distinction or above, with an incredible 71% of pupils awarded Distinction*.
- A*: Highest number of A*s ever achieved
- Recording numbers of places secured at Oxbridge, 5 students achieved places at Oxford to study Medicine, History and Biology.
- Huge congratulations to Cara G for being awarded a full scholarship to The Royal Academy of Music and a place to study music at Oxford University.
- Over half the cohort applying to university will attend Russell Group universities.
- Students secured highly competitive graduate apprenticeships at Queens Park Rangers (QPR) and Airbus.

2025 Results
We are delighted to share the success of our students in yet another year of exceptional results at GCSE and A Level. We are incredibly proud of the hard work that our students put into their studies last year to prepare for success in external examinations. We want to extend our gratitude to our teachers for their commitment to helping our students achieve highly and for going the extra mile and supporting them in realising their potential.

This year, Oxford Spires is thrilled to announce a further rise in results, with the pass rate in both Maths and English increasing to 71% – continuing the school’s impressive improvement on last year’s already outstanding achievements.
The notable achievements at Oxford Spires include:
- Lamari Sackey-Nash – achieving top grades across the sciences and set to pursue A levels in Biology and Chemistry, with ambitions to study medicine.
- Sanuthi Wickremesinghe – excelling in a wide range of subjects, with grade 9s in Geography, Biology, Chemistry, English Literature and Business Studies.
- Misty Saunders – achieving strong results across the board, including high grades in Art, Spanish, English Language and History.
- Natalie Wills – securing top grades 9s in Art, Biology and English Literature and with a total of 11 GCSE grade 9-7.
- Aroosa Khurram – impressing with exceptional progress and strong passes across all subjects, particularly excelling Physics, English Literature and English Language with grade 9 in all three.
- Natalie Muigai – celebrating success with a hat trick of grade 9’s in Biology, Chemistry and Physics with a further four grade 9’s in Computer Science, Maths, Further Maths and Business.

Year 13 A Level highlights
An Oxford school's maths cohort had an "historic" A-level results day with 15 A*s.
Hundreds of thousands of students in England, Wales and Northern Ireland received their A-level results today (Thursday, August 14).
Students at Oxford Spires Academy, part of the Anthem Schools Trust, celebrated with friends and family as the all-important envelopes were opened.
One runaway success story from this year's cohort was the maths department, which saw a jaw-dropping 15 A*s across maths and further maths.

Headteacher Louise Cowley was delighted with the group and described their achievement as "historic".
"Especially with the further maths results, the students are competing against really good mathematicians," she said.
"You normally expect one or two A*s in the group, but the fact that the majority of the cohort got A*s is spectacular.
"They must be sitting in the top two per cent of mathematicians in the country.

"It's incredible. I don't think there will be many schools that will get as many A*s from further maths and maths.
"The maths department has been the standout this year, and they're a brilliant group.
"I didn't expect the number of high grades that we got, but we do have an excellent set of teachers who really made the difference.
"Pushing over that threshold to get an A* is really hard to do, so its historic to see this."
Assistant principal and maths teacher, Shazeb Khan, echoed these thoughts on A-level results day.
Oxford Spires Academy on Glanville Road.
He said: "It has been really good overall for the school in general, but I'm a maths teacher, so of course I'm biased towards them."
"Of our six further maths students, four of them got A*s while the other two got A's.
"All of those students got A*s in the normal maths course, with 11 A*s across the maths cohort in general."
Among those in the maths department who shone the brightest were best friends Daniel Olde Scheper and Jez Snelson.
The pair of best friends each took home A*s in both further maths and maths, alongside two further As each in other subjects.

Daniel, 18, is planning on studying Computer Science at the University of Southampton.
Jez, also 18, is headed to the University of Warwick for a course in discrete mathematics.
Reacting to the high results around at Oxford Spires Academy, David Moran, Interim CEO of Anthem Schools Trust, said: “Very many congratulations to the Year 13s at Oxford Spires for their success today.
“Students and staff have all worked so hard to get here and should be very proud of the results we have seen.
“We all want to wish our young people the very best in whatever they choose to do next, whether it is higher education, taking up an apprenticeship or starting their career.”
